FAQ

Are caddies available?

The Glencoe G&CC does not have a formal caddy program so generally providing a caddy is the player’s responsibility. However in certain circumstances, the committee has found caddies for players. If you are interested in a caddy, please reach out well in advance of the tournament to [email protected] and the committee will provide best efforts to find a caddy.

Can I play multiple practice rounds?

The official practice round is a shotgun start the day before the tournament. The tournament committee is unable to arrange for alternative practice round days or times. The only way for a player to play an additional practice round is as a guest of a member.

What is the history of the event?

The first tournament took place in June of 1992. The first tournament committee was Don Price, Glencoe G&CC’s first Director of Golf and members Vince Ramscar and Greg Smyth. The original vision of the tournament was to bring together tournament players in Western Canada for a tune up before their provincial amateurs.

Can a player or spectator use a power cart?

If a note signed by a general physician is provided in advance, the tournament committee will consider these requests on a case-by-case basis.

What is the connection with She Plays Golf?

The women’s divisions of the Glencoe Invitational are included as one of three events in the She Plays Golf tournament series. She Plays Golf is part of Golf Canada’s women’s participation strategy, designed to create meaningful pathways in the game of golf while aligning with Golf Canada’s broader mission to grow the sport across Canada.
